The Grand Bohemian Hotel, Mountain Brook Autograph Collection

We had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the Grand Bohemian in Birmingham, Alabama.

This venue has the ability to have events both intimate and grand. There are some great features about this venue and we wanted to share what we loved so much about this hotel:

#1. Space has both large and small spaces to accommodate the style of wedding you desire to have. They have a ballroom that can be split into different size sections. This means that you can have a guest list of 100 and still have adequate room to social distance. For many, this may look like only seating 5 to 6 guests at a table or only immediate family together. The hotel also has an art gallery that is perfect for small groups of 20 - 50 guests for a ceremony or casual cocktail hour.

#2. The art can be found everywhere throughout the hotel grounds. The hotel is beautiful even before you place your wedding day vision inside of it. Beautiful art can be viewed in the lobby at guest check out, in the hallway on the way to your room, in your room, at the restaurant. The colors are vibrant, but not too much that you feel uneasy or anxious.

#3. Our room was placed on the third floor, which had direct access to the hotel restaurant. This is great for guests that have to stay on the third floor. No need to catch the elevator or even leave the property if you are hungry but too tired to travel. The third floor also had rooms where cooking classes and wine blending were taking place. We did not have enough time in our schedule to sign up for classes, but we will definitely do so on our next visit.

#4. Location, location, location! The location of the hotel has lots of stores and restaurants nearby. There is nothing like forgetting to pack a toothbrush. If this happens you will not have to drive far to pick up a few items you may have forgotten.

#5. The food! We were invited to an Indian focused dinner and let me tell you. Chef did not disappoint! We enjoyed items such as chicken masala, Began Bartha, Basmati rice pilaf, assorted naan, and a saffron ice cream. The meal was paired with a Reisling wine. We had no problem asking for a second glass. We also enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant and the buttermilk pancakes were amazing.

#6. The customer services. As individuals who also operate in the entertainment & hospitality industry, quality customer service is something we are always paying attention to. It doesn't make sense to have such a beautiful venue and the service is ugly. Here you will not have to worry about that. Even as we were enjoying dinner the chef came out to make sure we're enjoying our meals and even offered us some Chai afterward.

#7. The outdoor locations were great! Someone took the time to make sure that the furniture and lounge areas outside the hotel were just as beautiful as the inside. Purple and lavender... a favorite color of ours here at Kris Lavender, was the featured color throughout the furniture. If it gets a little chill there are also fire pits placed throughout teh outdoor location space. The spaces are great for after dinner shenanigans or a cocktail hour for smaller groups. It was definitely one of our favorites at the Grand Bohemian.
