Literally the foundation of the wedding day…well with the exception of the actual marriage that’s going to happen on that day. The venue is so significant that it will determine what type of décor you will have, the logistics of your guests and even what type of food you will have on the wedding day. Here are my top 5 things to consider when deciding on your wedding venue.

1. Select a venue that matches your wedding day vision.
If you want to have a romantic outdoor ceremony and garden chandeliers at your reception, make sure your venue can accommodate those elements. The last thing you want to hear during the wedding day is “no you can’t do this or that”.

2. Remember your budget!
It is so easy to go down the rabbit hole when you start your search online.
The glass chandeliers, the marble flooring, and pillars, large bay windows that cast the perfect lighting…they all have a price.

3. Ensure that your venue space accommodates your guest count and the experience you want your guests to have.
While you are on your venue tour ask what the max guest count is for the venue. You definitely don’t want your guests to feel like sardines. If you want sparklers at your grand send-off, ask about that as well. The tour is when you have the opportunity to inquire about all the elements you want to have on your wedding day.

4. Make sure you know what the venue pricing includes.
Venues that come with tables, chairs and table linen are great! Some venues are just a beautiful blank canvas and others may have chairs, linen, and tables for an additional fee. Whatever the situation make sure you have a clear understanding of what the venue price includes. Note: A lot of venues require you to use in house catering.

5. Make sure you love it!!
If nothing else, make sure that every time you take a visit, you fall in love with your venue and the amazing day you will have there. It's important to feel inspired and happy that you will be saying "I do" in this venue space.
